近日，滑铁卢数学竞赛组委会放出2022年全球数学FGH竞赛的比赛结果，传来启明星的好消息！
5名启明星学生获得卓越奖，其中有4名学生登上荣誉榜单！这5名学生是：

其中，Fryer比赛环节，启明星学校位列全球594所学校的第29名，登上了团队荣誉榜单！
今年4月，组建不久的启明星数学校队参加了2022年度滑铁卢数学竞赛。校队指导老师、启明星中学数学组组长钱青华对孩子们的表现很是骄傲：
“我们超过半数的参赛学生获得了卓越奖，这样的获奖比例还是不错的——这意味着他们的成绩达到了全球6000多名参赛学生的前25%。”
美国和加拿大大学对于滑铁卢数学竞赛的认可度是很高的，能够登上滑铁卢数学竞赛荣誉榜并不容易。
钱老师补充说：“滑铁卢大学是世界上最好的数学研究机构之一，其旗舰级的中学生数学竞赛每年吸引着成千上万的年轻数学爱好者。它的声望来自于滑铁卢大学在数学方面的学术地位。准备时间有限的情况下，我们学生的表现令人钦佩。我相信，这些孩子有足够的时间来进一步发展他们的数学能力，希望这是他们未来进入数学奇迹世界的奇妙旅程的开始!”
正如钱老师所说，在启明星，不少学生在数学方面有着特别的兴趣和天分，学校也鼓励他们在数学学科不断探索和成长。
本学年开始以来，启明星通过课后课和数学校队两条渠道支持对数学有特别兴趣的学生。钱青华老师和刘迆旸老师担任教练。

两位老师不但拥有丰富的教学经验，也曾带领学生在不少比赛中获奖。比如，钱老师有多名学生被牛津大学数学专业录取；指导学生参加国际滑铁卢数学竞赛，有的学生获得中国最高奖，有的学生获得世界顶级奖！刘老师拥有英国华威大学数学硕士学位，曾指导多名学生获得牛津大学和剑桥大学的入学资格，攻读数学或物理相关学科。
此外，启明星学校已经成为国际滑铁卢数学竞赛、袋鼠数学竞赛、AMC8、AMC10/12，以及英国数学思维挑战赛UKMT的考试中心，我们期待更多学生应用这些资源，参加挑战！
滑铁卢数学竞赛
滑铁卢数学竞赛CEMC，又被称作加拿大数学竞赛，也是加拿大的官方数学竞赛，始于1963年，面向全世界高中生，涵盖7-12年级，由滑铁卢大学数学系的加拿大数学与计算机教育中心举办。因滑铁卢大学在数学领域的优良声誉和传统，以及竞赛考察标准的严格性和专业性，滑铁卢数学竞赛已经得到广泛的认可，被誉为“数学托福”的考试，成绩前25%的同学将获得卓越奖。对于成绩特别突出的学生或团队，将有机会进入滑铁卢大学官网数学竞赛荣誉榜单。
Recently, the Organizing Committee of Waterloo Mathematics Contest published the results of the Fryer, Galois and Hypatia (FGH) Contests, including the remarkable achievements made by Daystar Academy.
Five Daystar students win Certificate of Distinction, and four of them are on the honor roll.They are:

In the Fryer Contest, Daystar Academy ranks the 29th among all the 594 participant schools worldwide and listed in team honour roll.
This April, the recently formed Daystar’s School Math Team took part in the 2022 Waterloo Mathematics Contest. “More than half of our participant students won the Certificate of Distinction. It’s a great achievement—it means they are the top 25 percent of the over 6,000 participants worldwide,” said Linda Qian, team instructor and leader of Daystar’s secondary school math teachers’ team, proudly.
“American and Canadian universities recognize and appreciate Waterloo Mathematics Contest very much. So, it’s not easy to be on the honor roll,” said Teacher Qian.
“The University of Waterloo is one of the best mathematics institutes in the world, and the Waterloo Mathematics Contest, its flagship secondary school math contest, attracts thousands of young math loves every year, because of the university’s prestigious presence in research and academic achievement in math. This time, our students didn’t have enough time to prepare, but they still made remarkable achievements.A lot of them have greater math potential to be tapped into. I hope the Contest can be their first step into the wonderful math world in the future,” added Teacher Qian, the instructor.
At Daystar, we have many other students interested and talented in math, and we encourage them to keep exploring and improving in subjects related to math.
Since the beginning of this academic year, we have provided after-school activities for students interested in math and encouraged them to join our School Math Team. Teacher Qian and Teacher Ryan Liu are the instructors.

Both teachers enjoy rich experience in teaching and leading teams to victory in many competitions.For example, many of Teacher Qian’s former students have gained admission into the Mathematical Institute of the University of Oxford. She also led students to win the top prize in China and the world at the Waterloo Mathematics Contest. Teacher Liu has a Master’s Degree of Mathematics in the University of Warwick, and has helped many students gain admission into the University of Oxford and University of Cambridge to study subjected related to math or physics.
In addition,Daystar has become a center for the Waterloo Mathematics Contest, Math Kangaroo, AMC8, AMC10, AMC12, IMC, and UKMT.We hope more students will utilize these incredible resources and platforms to challenge themselves and excel.
Waterloo Mathematics Contest
Waterloo Mathematics Contest, or Canadian Mathematics Competition, is an official math contest in Canada. Initiated in 1963, it is targeted at G7-G12 senior high school students worldwide, held by the Center for Education in Mathematics and Computing of the University of Waterloo. The University of Waterloo has a long and prestigious history of math research and education. And the Waterloo Mathematics Contest, due to its strict and professional standards, has been widely accepted as “Math TOEFL.” The top 25% students will get Certificate of Distinction, and other students or teams with outstanding achievements will be listed on the honor roll published on the university’s official website.
